About Us
The purpose of the Platteville Youth Basketball program
is to provide players and coaches an opportunity to
embrace the game of basketball. Platteville Youth Basketball (PYB) is a program
to service the youth of the
community in 5th through 8th grades. PYB strives to create a positive experience
for all players involved, while at
the same time provide them the opportunity to better understand the game of
basketball, enhance current skills
and learn to play at a higher level in order to prepare for participation
in high school. PYB emphasizes and tries to
instill in each player/coach the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair
play. We expect a positive attitude
among each team and its members both on and off of the court. We also expect
this same positive attitude
towards opponents and their coaches, referees, and spectators.
Board of Directors: PYB is a non-profit organization and therefore,
relies on volunteers throughout the year.
PYB is comprised of a board of directors with representatives from both the
boys and girls teams. Meetings are
open to all and held once a month throughout the year. Along with the board,
there are many other volunteers
that help make PYB a successful program. Volunteer opportunities range from
participating on the board to
assisting with home tournaments, concessions, registration activities, and/or
fundraising activities. If interested in
