Sports Training and Injury Prevention
What the program entails
The summer sports training and injury prevention
program is a summer program designed specifically for junior high and high
school athletes to prepare them for the upcoming competitive sports at their
local schools. A pre-test of upper and lower extremity strength, balance,
agility and jumping ability will be performed on Day 1. The remainder of Day
1 and Day 2 will be spent instructing individuals in proper form and technique
of a training program that the individual will be responsible to perform for
6 weeks over the summer. A two week check-in is
scheduled for Day 3. The athlete will be given photos and thoroughly written
instructions on how to perform the program. The program can be performed will
materials at home along with some equipment that will be provided. On Day
4, a post-test will be performed to determine the individuals improvements
along with areas of weakness needing to be addressed.
Program Fee: $25 per athlete

Workshop Goals
To educate athletes in proper strength training form and technique,
and proper exercise selection.
To educate athletes in proper jumping and landing techniques to minimize
injury risk.
